In the mean time, Public Prosecutors Office continues to investigate DaimlerChrysler. 'Grässlin is the key figure in the proceedings, that leaded to a widespread investigation', wrote the Stuttgarter Zeitung. The accusation: suspected insider trading. But that isn't nearly all of it. In the course of his inquiries Jürgen Grässlin encountered systematically organized working Grey Market Deals, and there are indications that top managers are involved in these deals. The 'Daimler-Desaster' is a story about the arrogance of power, a didactic play about megalomania. Finally Jürgen Grässlin tells how a management, driven by uninhibited ambition and overestimation of its own capabilities wanted it all and ended up losing almost everything. It.s left up to the shareholders, the employees and the clients to suffer the loss.
Jürgen Grässlin, born in 1957, living in Freiburg, made his mark as author of the only Schrempp-biography and of several books on the car and arms industry.
